About WattBench

WattBench (wattbench.eu) exists because I wanted to create something fun. I wanted a site that leads with the spec sheet — real capacity, real output, real charge times — and only afterward gets into what it's actually like to own one.

Why this site exists

This site was born as an experiment: how far can a clean, data-driven approach go in a world full of marketing fluff? I’ve always liked power stations, and I believe these devices matter because we’ve started relying more and more on smart devices — phones, computers, and other AC appliances. I think there’s a big boom coming for portable power devices, one that will help carry us into the next phase of how the world uses power. The plan was to build a site that gathers the most reliable and popular power devices and rates them using our Rubric v1.5 engine, with clear visualizations to make comparing them simple. I hope you have fun exploring and find the device that fits your needs. If not, check out the “Let’s Find You The Right Device” tool on the homepage. This site keeps improving, with new products added and old ones retired over time.

What the badge means

A product can carry one small badge on its photo — its single strongest, most distinctive strength. We deliberately show at most one badge per product, even if it would technically qualify for more, so it’s always clear what actually stands out. Each badge is earned automatically from the same specs behind the score above — nothing here is hand-picked:

  • 🏆 Top Rated — the highest-scoring product in its category.
  • 💰 Best Value — the best price for what you get, among products that also score well overall, so a weak product can’t win this just by being cheap.
  • Fastest Charge — recharges quicker, relative to its size, than anything else in its category.
  • 🪶 Lightest — the lowest weight in its category.

Most products won’t carry a badge at all — only one product per category can hold each one.

Pricing, Specs, and Disclaimers

WattBench continuously checks prices and products. However, specs change, prices change, and manufacturers update firmware and hardware without much notice. Product labels, price indicators, and data discrepancies may occur over time. If you spot something out of date, please let us know so we can correct it as part of our regular data checks.

This site is purely intended for hobbyists. We are not responsible for any mislabels, errors, or incorrect guidance resulting from data discrepancies.

How we make money

Some links on this site are affiliate links — if you buy through them, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. This never affects which products we cover or how we score them. See our affiliate disclosure for the full policy.

Privacy Policy

WattBench takes user privacy seriously. We do not collect or process any personal data from our visitors.

Rubric v1.5, visualized

Five sub-scores, computed automatically from real specs, weighted, and averaged into the number you see on every review. No hidden factors, no editorial thumb on the scale.

For chargers, we swap Charge Speed for Efficiency — a charger has no battery of its own to recharge, but how cleanly and efficiently it delivers power to your devices is just as decision-relevant.

A worked example

Here’s how that math plays out on a real product on this site — the EcoFlow DELTA Pro 3, which scores 4.7/5 overall:
